Dr. Tonny Tang graduated from the University of Alberta in 2000, with a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Originally from Edmonton, Dr. Tang has now made Calgary his home.
At the young age of 17, Dr. Tang was accepted into the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Science program. Only two years later, he was granted acceptance into the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program, where graduated with distinction in 2000 at the age of 23. Dr. Tonny has also received the Pursuit of Excellence Award in the fields of Removable and Fixed Prosthodontics.
Dr. Tang’s passion for dentistry continues to grow every day, which is why he continues to hone his skills by furthering his education. He focuses on all aspects of cosmetic dentistry and root canal therapy, two areas of particular interest to him. Dr. Tang’s eye for symmetry achieves highly esthetic results in cosmetic dentistry, and his meticulous attention to detail achieves textbook root canal therapy success.
Dr. Tang works especially well with anxious and apprehensive patients, helping lessen their anxiety through the use of painless needles and a focus on painless procedures. His goal is to convert anxious patients into relaxed and comfortable patients who are no longer afraid of the dentist or taking care of their oral health!
Dr. Tang’s greatest sense of satisfaction comes from his one-on-one work with patients, where he is able to help them increase their confidence level and outlook on life by improving their smile!
In his personal life, Dr. Tang enjoys many different pursuits including snowboarding, volleyball, and basketball. He is especially passionate about golf! Dr. Tang also enjoys spending time with family and friends. He enjoys giving back to the community by working with local schools and community sports teams, and by donating to charities like the Children’s Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation and cancer research.
Dr. Tang’s philosophy on life is quite simple, Try to get the most out of life. Strive for perfection at anything you do. Always be positive in any situation. Commit to being a person that friends and family can rely on.
